What they do tell you.....
●Their product provides
the cheapest rate in the car insurance market
!!!!
●Car rental after a
claim will be included free of charge
●Roadside assistance
for breakdowns is included free of charge
●Through some market
research , they are the best and the cheapest (apperently!!)
● If you dont claim,
you will get some type of cashback bonus from them,
because you will be seen as GOOD customer.
What they
DON'T tell you... and what you need to look out for !!!!
●If the premium is very
low, there usually is something wrong..... The lower the
premium, usually the higher the excess payable will be
in the event of a claim. It is of no use that you save R
200 a month and then you have to pay an excess of R 5
000 when you want to claim.
●If the premium is much
lower than the average, portions of the car
insurance cover may be excluded from the
policy.
●Some of those "free
value added" features like car rental after a
claim and roadside assistance might not cover you so
comprehensively as you think. Some car insurance
policies will provide roadside assistance, but
you have to pay for it!!! Some of the car rental
features only gives you car rental to the rental amount
of eg. R 1 700. With that amount a person can only rent
a car for about a week. What if your car takes 3 weeks
to be repaired? Can you afford to be without a car for
the last two weeks of the repairs?
●Named driver clauses
will also provide premium discount, but maybe the car
will only be covered if the car is driven by yourself or
your spouse. .....or if someone else drives the car, it
will be covered, but with a very high excess. What if
somebody else got to drive the vehicle in eg. a medical
emergency?
● Damage to your
vehicle will only be repaired by certain panelbeaters.
You might not a choice of who will repair your vehicle.
● Cashback type of
car insurance policies is fine if you
dont claim, but what if you do claim? Rather take the
saving immediately than to wait for a cashback bonus
that might never come !!!
| Interesting Fact :
Research has shown that only 15% of all the cars
in South Africa has comprehensive car
insurance.
This means that if your
involved in a car accident, there is a big
change that the guilty party might not have
car insurance !!!
Can you afford not to
have comprehensive car insurance ??
